School Students in our Studio and Online
School Students
Schools appreciate students with musical skills who can join concert bands, chamber music groups and orchestras. The piano is a great first instrument, which enables students to learn a second instrument more easily. Many of our students go on to win scholarships offered by various schools.
We teach the performance component of QCE and VCE music- in close liaison with the school music faculty. We coach many piano, keyboard and theory students who wish to enter AMEB theory and piano exams.
The Australian Music Examinations Board is recognised internationally, and Theory of Music is a PRE-REQUISITE for all AMEB vocal and instrumental exams. Many of our students perform at our regular concert opportunities, gaining self-esteem, self-confidence and inspiration (by hearing other performers’ pieces).
We perfectly understand that not all families want their children to participate in exams or eisteddfods. They are happy to watch their children thrive by playing mostly for family and friends, with perhaps the odd concert or two!
Online lessons:
Following our huge success in 2020 and 2021, providing online lessons during the Covid Pandemic lockdowns, we are continuing to offer these. Online lessons have proved to be very popular as they provide great benefits in so many ways:
- Providing lessons at home for students when parents are working, or are otherwise unable to bring students to the studio, due to some unforeseen problem, e.g. car breakdown.
- When a parent or student is ill, online lessons have proved to be ideal, allowing the continuation of progress.
- And of course the momentum of our regular in-studio lessons can continue ONLINE, uninterrupted, in the event of sudden and unscheduled government lockdowns and other curfews and travel restrictions.
- Make-up lessons online are popular with busy families!
- We have welcomed interstate online piano students who are wonderful. Some international online piano students are now in the pipeline too. We are very excited!
